Modern homes are filled with expensive electronics that require special care during moves. Televisions, computers, home entertainment systems, and smart home devices all need proper packing and handling to arrive safely at your new home.

Pre-Packing Preparation

Backup Everything: Before packing any electronics:

• Back up all computers to external drives or cloud storage
• Copy important files from phones and tablets
• Photograph cable connections for reference
• Gather all chargers, remotes, and accessories

Gather Original Materials: If you still have original boxes and packaging:

• Locate instruction manuals and warranty information
• Gather all foam inserts and protective materials
• Keep small parts bags with the main device

Packing Electronics Safely

Televisions and Monitors:

• Use original boxes when available
• Apply screen protector film if available
• Wrap in bubble wrap or foam padding
• Label boxes clearly as “FRAGILE - GLASS”

Computers and Laptops:

• Remove and pack separately: cables, mice, dongles
• Use anti-static packing materials
• Pack batteries separately if possible
• Consider carrying laptops and small electronics yourself

Home Entertainment Systems:

• Take photos of wire configurations before disconnecting
• Label cables at both ends with masking tape
• Wrap cables neatly and secure with zip ties
• Pack components in original boxes or boxes with adequate padding

Protecting Against Static and Damage

• Use anti-static bags for computers and components
• Avoid packing electronics in damp or humid conditions
• Keep electronics in climate-controlled environments during transit
• Never wrap electronics in regular plastic bags (static buildup risk)
